1. Who is Sebastian?

    Sebastian was born in 1989 in the small Dutch town called Enschede. Soon after, the Kraaijenzank family moved to Aarhus in Denmark where Sebastian has had his upbringing. Today, Sebastian works with e-commerce in Denmark and other countries in North Europe.

    After having worked with all major e-commerce solutions on the market, Sebastian decided that things should be easier. E-commerce shouldn’t be so difficult! The idea grew and, today, the result is Mivando. Mivando is a cool e-commerce platform that allows anybody to open an online store easily and without all the wrangle. Mivando is founded in cooperation with Mark Kordon and Jonas Hovgaard.

    Entrepreneurship is one of Sebastian’s great passions. Sebastian has run his own companies since the age of 18 and already has a lot of experience when it comes to web development. That covers both business development and actual programming. The Mivando product is developed on the .NET platform and hosted in the cloud by Windows Azure. Thus, Mivando is a company focusing on Microsoft technologies.

    Sebastian has experience with and works with the following technologies:

    • Web development with HTML5 and CSS3
    • App development (web, mobile and desktop) on the .NET platform writing in C# with the MVC framework as the preferred framework for web apps and the Mono framework preferred for cross-platform desktop apps
    • Statistical analysis using R accompanied with a wide range of packages made available through The Comprehensive R Archive Network
    • Data management using SQL/T-SQL

    Other than working with entrepreneurship, Sebastian is studying at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Spain) working on his master degree in statistics (covering areas such as econometrics, time series analysis, quantitative methods, regression techniques and data mining in general). Sebastian is due to graduate in June 2013.
